The Elmbrook Education Foundation (previously the Lancer-Spartan Scholarship Fund) supports the community's value on continuing education by sustaining and enhancing its Scholarship Program. Today, approximately 1 out of every 40 of our graduating seniors receives an EEF administered scholarship donated by area businesses and individuals wishing to recognize them for their accomplishments and help them pursue a post-secondary education. The Foundation's scholarship committee matches recipients to the specific criteria of its donors. Recipients show a commitment to their education, a sincere desire to serve others, and/or the ability to overcome challenges in an effort to reach personal goals. To date, the Foundation has administered over $1,000,000 in merit and need-based scholarships to nearly 1,000 students planning to attend either a University or Technical School.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM INFORMATION (this information is updated in January each year)
Any graduating senior of Brookfield Central or Brookfield East High School may apply for a Lancer-Spartan Scholarship. Students who have been awarded full scholarships at the institution they will attend are not eligible.
Community Nominations - DUE BY MARCH 7th, 2014
The Elmbrook Education Foundation (EEF) wants your help to identify and encourage students who have made a difference in their community to apply for an EEF Scholarship. Nominations from family members will not be considered. Applicants do not need to be nominated to apply for a scholarship award. For more information, please review the Community Nomination for Lancer-Spartan Scholarship Form .
Applications are evaluated on the basis of scholarship, leadership, and service within the school and community. Information from community nomination forms will also be considered. Some awards consider financial need. Some awards target specific criteria designated by donor. Some awards target students who will attend a vocational school or technical college.
A committee of the Elmbrook Education Foundation Board of Directors determine the nominees by carefully reviewing all scholarship applications. The Board of Directors gives final approval to the scholarship recipients.

Award Disbursement for Lancer-Spartan Scholarships
Lancer-Spartan Scholarships provide a one-time award of $1,500 paid out during the recipient's freshman year. A verification of attendance form will be issued to the recipient at the time of scholarship presentation and must be completed, signed by an officer of the post secondary institution and sent to: Elmbrook Education Foundation, P.O. Box 206, Brookfield, Wisconsin 53008-0206. Upon receipt of the attendance verification, a $1,500 check will be issued directly to the student. Scholarships not claimed by December 31st of the recipient's freshman year will be forfeited.
Publicizing the Lancer-Spartan scholarship program is a critical component of raising the funds required to sustain the scholarship program. Consequently, the Foundation asks all Lancer-Spartan scholarship recipients to make themselves available for press photos. In addition, award recipients will be invited to represent the Foundation in the July 4th parade in Brookfield.
Most Lancer Spartan scholarships are presented in the name of community members, businesses, civic organizations and honorary/memorial funds who have sponsored the $1500 scholarships in full. In addition, the EEF receives donations toward the scholarship program which collectively enable the Foundation to award additional scholarships each year. Please refer to the Scholarship Supporters Page to identify those who have supported the scholarship program this year.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
The Foundation makes it easy for you or your organization to sponsor a scholarship. You supply the donor criteria, we select the recipient on your behalf. You or your organization will be recognized at each school's award night and at graduation, as well as recognition in local media releases. Additional recognition is provided at our community events each year.
